He is survived by: his children, Melanie Deanne Koon of Gray Court and William Leroy Koon Jr. (Milly) of Gray Court; his siblings, Reba Young (Jason) of Gray Court, Angeline Roper (Ray) of Six Mile and Bill Koon (Lib) of Laurens; his grandchildren, Jesse Koon (Chandler), Summer Owens (Jalen), Joseph Poole (Skylar) and Hailey Koon; and his great grandchild Carter Owens.
