He was predeceased by: his father Dr. Paul Eugene Childs, Sr.; and his brother Russell Mathis. He is survived by: his mother Helen Taylor Turner; his siblings, Susan Dianne Edwards (Ron), James Michael Godfrey (Jane), Laura Childs Thompson, Theresa Childs Griffin (Terry), Lawrence "Larry" Duane Childs (Terri) and Roberta Warth; his close friend Tina Marie Grillmeier; his grandchildren, Autumn, Anthony, Breanna and Claire; and also, Shannon Marie Bishop (Richey) and Michael Louis Grillmeier (Kaycee). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
