He was predeceased by: his parents, William Calvin and Ruth Scott Chapman; his former wife Barbara Bagwell Chapman; his daughter Regina Patterson Ballard; his grandsons, Michael Patterson and Isaac Swanson; and his siblings, Edna Looney, Nellie Kelly, Thomas and David Chapman.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Jennings Chapman; his children, Faye Patterson (William), Renee McMahon (Mike), Elaine Swanson (Gregg) and Johnny Chapman; and his siblings, Bobbie Hudson and Roy Chapman. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
