He was predeceased by: his parents, John Edward, Sr. and Annie Smith Maddox; and his siblings, John Edward Maddox, Jr., Valerie Renye and Karen Davis.
He is survived by: his nephews, Keith Maddox, Charles K. Maddox, Donald J. Maddox (Lisa) of William Renye, III. and John Eric Renye (Amy); and his niece Stephanie M. Murph. He is also survived by great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
