Walter Duffey Obituary

Mr. Walter "Terry" Duffey, 79, of Graniteville, SC, beloved husband of thirty-one years to Mary Louise Odom Duffey, entered into rest on Sunday, October 16, 2022, in the comfort of his home.

Born in Fulton County, GA and a former longtime resident of Stockbridge, GA, he and Louise made Aiken County, SC, their home four years ago. He proudly and with honor served his country in the United States Navy. He retired from the Henry County Sheriff's Department where he served as a Deputy. Terry was somewhat of a "History Buff" and was known for keeping an immaculate yard and loved his truck! Terry enjoyed being with his family, especially his grandchildren, Charlotte, Philip, Reese and Jack Stansfield.

In addition to his wife, family members include his children and their spouses, Stuart Todd and Shannon Duffey, Jackson, GA and Brian Kevin and Mindy Stansfield, Augusta, GA and a sister and her husband, Barbara and Harold Aderhold, Rex, GA. Let us not forget his fur child, Cooper.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at 2 o'clock in the chapel of Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Highway, Graniteville, SC. Interment with Veterans Honors accorded by a United States Navy Honor Guard will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, SC. Pallbearers will be Todd Duffey, Brian Stansfield, Dennis McGrotha, Joel Hallisey, Christopher Chubb and Eric Hobbs. The family will greet friends on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
