With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John W. Mitchum Sr. (Graniteville, South Carolina), who passed away on February 9, 2023 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his former wife Jennie Barrs Mitchum; his parents, John Wesley and Emma Cockrell Mitchum; his siblings, Louise, Bennie Frank Mitchum, Thomas "Sonny" Mitchum and Robert "Bobby" Mitchum; his son John William Mitchum; and his great grandchild Ryan Parker Eagerton.
He is survived by: his daughters, Carol Garvin (Lee), Hazel Bledsoe, Katherine Eagerton (Billy) and Donna Owais (Mohammed); his daughter-in-law Shelly Mitchum (Sara Richardson Mitchum); and his grandchild Thirteen. He is also survived by Thirteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
