He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Cooley and Frances Smith Cooley; his wife Kathleen Walther; his children, Paula Santilli (John) of Kane, Jodi James (Michael) of Eldred and William Cooley (Michele) of Goose Creek; his grandchildren, Joanna Santilli, Sara Santilli (Jeff Cashon), Andrew James (Megan), Logan James, Maggie James, Cheyanne Reddish, Carson Reddish, Dalton Cooley and Ava Cooley; and his great grandchild Rowan James. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.

The family requests that memorials be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
