He was predeceased by: his sister Esther Acevedo (Manuel Acevedo Jr.); his parents, Manuel Acevedo and Libertad Acevedo; and his brother Manuel Acevedo, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Josefina of Goose Creek, SC; his children, April Acevedo Saunders-Fuller (Kenneth), Mabel Dawson (Danny, Jr), Mervin Acevedo (Marites) and Virginia Spence (Anthony); his grandchildren, Kaylin Spence, Desmond Spence, Dedrick Spence, Megan Acevedo, Melanie Acevedo, Viktoria Dawson and Nina Dawson; his great grandchild Blair; his sisters, Tita Marcial (Alex) and Marian Acevedo; his niece Marivel Hetrick (Robert); and his nephews, Alex (Grethel), Neil, Brian and Manolo (Jesica). He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and great nieces and nephews.
