He was predeceased by: his parents, Scott W. Benton and Eva Plymel; his siblings, Andy Benton and Nancy Benton; and his stepfather Julian Daniels.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Benton; his stepchildren, Jerry Morgan of Goose Creek, Teresa Morgan of Goose Creek and Chris Morgan of Goose Creek; and his sisters, Judy Haler of Ladson and Marie Hunter (Tony). He is also survived by six grandchildren; five great grandchildren.
