She was predeceased by: her spouse Grendle Dean Hinkle; and her parents, Elmer Volsted and Esther Lundquist Volsted. She is survived by: her brother Robert Volsted of Elgin, Illinois.; and her children, Patricia Lynn Edwards (Scott) of Summerville, Helena H. Dunn (Thomas) of Goose Creek, Michael Dean Hinkle of Lincolnville, Katherine Ann Herndon (Douglas) of Summerville, Juanita Marie Kellahan of North Charleston and Charles H. Hinkle of North Charleston.

Joann Was President of the North Charleston Senior Center until Covid closed everything down.
