He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Judson and Laura Kate Shaw Spires; and his brother Hugh Wayne Spires. He is survived by: his wife Mary Frances Johnson Spires; his daughters, Cathy S. Burgess (Tim Liebach), Laura Kate Spires and Joy Gail Newsome (Eddie); his grandchildren, Megan Burgess, Breanna Hendrickson, Harley DeRamus, Caleb Evans and Amanda Newsome; and his great grandchildren, Charlotte Burgess, M'kayla Pritchett, Wade Kaney and Barrett DeRamus. He is also survived by his wife and parents, family members.
