She was predeceased by: her parents, Harvel W. Koon Sr. and Lucille Ricard Koon; her former husband George D. Gunter Jr.; her son Eugene Garret Gunter Sr.; and her siblings, H. W. Koon Jr., Dub Metz, Luther P. Koon, Morris Koon, Louise Freeman and Martha Kyzer.
She is survived by: her husband Roy W. Sox; her sons, George Dewey Gunter III (Elaine) and Gregory D. Gunter (Diane); her stepchildren, Nancy House (Lin), Robert Sox, Tim Sox (Cheryl) and Scott Sox; and her sisters, Thelma Meetze Keith and Carolyn Toole. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Beulah Methodist Church - Gilbert (161 Beulah Church Rd, Gilbert, SC 29054). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 at the Beulah Methodist Church Cemetery - Gilbert (161 Beulah Church Rd, Gilbert, SC 29054).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beulah Methodist Church, 161 Beulah Church Road, Gilbert SC 29054.
