With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lucille Hancock Gilland of Gilbert, South Carolina, born in Gaston, South Carolina, who passed away on December 16, 2021 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lemuel H. Sightler and Maudie Hilson Sightler; and her granddaughter Amanda Jane Hancock. She is survived by: her children, Jesus of Mrs and Lucille; her husband Elroy E. Gilland; her children, Linda Holliman (Ed) of Gilbert, Stephen Hancock of San Diego, CA., David Hancock (Laine Dunbar) of Columbia and Retired Colonel Joseph R. Hancock of Gilbert; her grandchildren, Jessica McDaniel (Shane) of Gilbert, Sara Guyton (Kyle) of Gilbert, Matt Holliman (JoDee) of Gilbert, Austin Robertson (Sara) of Raleigh, N. C., Audrey Hancock of San Diego, Travis Hancock (Alexis Marsh) of Brevard, N. C., Carrie Brown (Lucas) of Columbia, Justin Hancock of Irmo, S. C., Benjamin Hancock (Greta) of Pelion, S. C., Rachel Wingard (Kennith) of Evans, Kelsey Hancock of Irmo, S. C. and Shelby Hancock of Gilbert; and her brother L. H. Sightler (Amelia). She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren.
