She was predeceased by: her spouse Fenton L. Poit; her parents, Lee Cannon Ballard and Winifred Rouse Ballard; and her siblings, Lee Cannon Ballard, Sr., Kenneth Earl Ballard, Gerald Ballard, Reginald Prince Ballard and Caryl Jeanne Ballard Cathou.
She is survived by: her children, Gayle Evelyn Poit Banner (Paul) of Lexington, Melanie Caryl Poit Daniels (James Charlie "Chip") of Georgetown, Fenton L. "Buddy" Poit of Georgetown and Peter Eric Poit of Georgetown; her grandchildren, Paul Christopher Banner and Angel Banner Dupree (Hal Pedersen); her great grandchildren, Carson Banner, Isabella Dupree, Brook Banner-Hallman and Monroe Paul Pedersen; her great great grandchildren, Savanah Rose Hallman and Pascal Eugene Hallman; and her niece Jeanne Cathou. She is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.
