She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Logan Bentley and Edith Hoffman Bentley; and her husband Dr. George H. Varn. She is survived by: her children, Mark H. Varn (Amanda) of Mount Pleasant, Eric B. Varn (Kate) of Pawleys Island and Sharon V. Groat (Geoff) of Charleston; and her grandchildren, Scott Varn, K. Logan Varn, William Varn, Katherine Varn, Eliza Groat and Suzanne Groat.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Downtown Chapel of Mayer-Ethridge Funeral Home & Crematory (222 St James St, Georgetown, SC 29440). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at the Final Resting Place Union United Methodist Cemetery (8209 Rose Hill Road, Georgetown, SC 29440).

In lieu of flowers, memorials or donations may be given to Duncan Methodist Church, Union Methodist Church, or Tidelands Community Hospice.
