Maxine Brown Etheridge Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maxine Brown Etheridge (Georgetown, South Carolina), who passed away on March 3, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Joe Mosely Etheridge; her parents, Hardy Brown and Esther Flowers Brown; her siblings, David S. Brown and Bonnie S. Lucken; and her siblings-in-law, June Brown and Leroy Lucken.
She is survived by: her sons, Joe M. Etheridge, Jr. (Betty) of Kingstree and Dr. Jon L. Etheridge (Bobbi) of Summerville; her grandchildren, Christopher Kennedy (Louisa) of Kingstree, Erica Goodwin (Philip) of Kingstree, Carolyne Etheridge Carter (Tyler) of Summerville and Emily Maxine Etheridge of Summerville; her great grandchildren, Tiller Kennedy, Brooke Nicole Goodwin, Brinley Carolyne Carter and Ryan Mosely Carter; her brother Hardy Brown (Karen) of Kingstree; and her nieces and nephews, Larone Brown of Goose Creek, Richard Martier (Kim) of Summerville, Gaydon Brown (Shannon) of Kingstree, Vickie Matthews (Steve) of Goose Creek and Olivia McClary (Robert) of Kingstree. She is also survived by numerous great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (219 Cleland St, Georgetown, SC 29440). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the First Baptist Church in honor of Mrs. Etheridge's enduring commitment to her faith and community, 219 Cleland St. Georgetown, SC 29440.
