With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mark David Staten of Georgetown, South Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 16, 2025 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Mark David may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Mark David touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Harold Staten and Pearl Thomas Staten Jones; and his brother Jim Staten. He is survived by: his wife Sandy Staten; his children, Mark "Bubba" Staten, Jr. and Paige Nutter (David); his grandchildren, Catherine, Cody and Cullen Nutter; his stepdaughter Tiffany Coleman (Travis); and his stepgrandchildren, Joshua and Anna Coleman.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Mayer-Ethridge Funeral Home (222 St James St, Georgetown, SC 29440). A reception was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 3:00 PM.
