He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley Pope and Birdie Padgett; his grandchild Jody Owens; his great grandchild Corey Owens; and his stepmother Ida Cameron Pope.

He is survived by: his wife Margie Owens Pope; his sons, Larry Owens (Joyce), Lonnie Pope Jr. (Donna) and Darrell Pope (Dena); his grandchildren, Larry Owens Jr. (Sheila), Misty Morris (Jeffrey), Lonnie Pope III (Debbie), Tiffany Cameron (Terry), Chelsea Dail (Jordan) and Kayla Pope; and his siblings, Marcella Russ and Sherwood Tony Pope.
