With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jay Hechler III of Georgetown, South Carolina, who passed away on February 1, 2024 at the age of 65. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lilly Bell Coker Casselman and John Peter Hechler, Jr.; his son Ethan Hechler; and his brothers, Leon Casselman and Raymond Freeman.
He is survived by: his wife Wanda Sue Carte Hechler; his children, Renee Carte (Derrick Avant) of Georgetown, Dusty Hechler Georgetown (Jessica) and Desiree Hechler (Graham Plummer) of Pawleys Island; his grandchildren, Aimarie, Ashton, Bud, Allison, Naythan, Jaydun and Emma; his great grandchildren, Carter and Walter; and his siblings, Darlene Taylor (Marvin) of Georgetown, Monica Casselman of Andrews, VonLee Freeman of Andrews and Joey Freeman (Laura) of St. Louis, MS. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
