He is survived by: his siblings, Arion, Willie James, Richard Grate, Mary Magdeline Grate, Betty Linnen and Rebecca Armstrong; his wife Ella Ree Cuttino Grate; his children, Janie Davis (Willie), Anthony Grate (Charisse), Pamelia Palmer (Marvin) of Clayton, NC, Sherrin Grate of Georgetown, SC, Isaac Grate, Jr. (Tonya) of Georgetown, SC and Melissa Grate of Georgetown, SC; his sisters, Clementine McFadden of Hemingway, SC and Jacqueline Armstrong of Detroit, MI; his siblings-in-law, Bertha Mae Grate of Georgetown, SC, Mary West, Anna Peterson and Charles Cuttino of Hemingway, SC; his niece Ester Moore; his nephew Larry Cuttino; and his friend Willie Cuttino. He is also survived by thirteen loving grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren.
