She was predeceased by: her stepfather Ernest James Gaskins, Jr.. She is survived by: her mother Gwenette Darlene Moore Gaskins; her children, John Trinity Thompson, Ginger Carmichael (Jonathan), Katlin Brooke Beard, Damian Beard and Tyler Beard; her grandchildren, Jonathan Creed Carmichael and Joy Dallas Carmichael; her brother Brent Shannon; her niece Jewelye "JuJu" Shannon; and her close friend Tyriq Keith.
