He was predeceased by: his great-nephew Grayson Plowden; and his parents, Thelbert Butner and Julia Kiser Butner. He is survived by: his sisters, Brenda McLain (Jerry) of West Columbia and Janet Butner Stokes of Lexington; his nephew Trey Plowden (Kim) of Cayce; his niece Jennifer Boatwright (Steven) of West Columbia; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Spencer (Danielle), Emma Plowden, Olivia and John Boatwright.
