He is survived by: his wife Deborah Brower Hewlett; his children, Julie Hewlett Whatley (Ben) of Lexington and John Hampton "Trey" Hewlett III (Kandi) of Beaufort; his grandchildren, John Hampton Hewlett IV, Lawson Hewlett, Haley Stanley, Turner Whatley and Mary Katherine Whatley; his sister Camille Wyman; his niece Nancy Wyman Clemens; and his nephew Ed Wyman.
