He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Earls and Verdie Putnam Earls; and his sister Catherine Fortenberry (Marvin). He is survived by: his wife Linda Petty Earls; his children, Bobby Lamar Earls of Shelby, NC and Lorie Ann Poston of Shelby, NC; and his brother Stephen Earls (Sheila) of Boiling Springs, NC. He is also survived by several grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
