He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Broadus Thompson and Altie Mullinax Thompson; his siblings, Charlie Thompson, Grady Thompson, Mary Ann Thompson, Janice Hughey, Sarah Emma Thompson and Althea Thompson; his sister-in-law Mattie Jackson Thompson; his sons-in-law, Chris Simmons, Wayne Roark and Randall Littlejohn; and his grandson Lane Colt Simmons.
He is survived by: his wife Debra McAbee Thompson; his children, Richie Thompson (Beth), Robby Thompson (Wendy), Samantha Thompson, Kelly Wyatt (Mark) and Stacey Littlejohn; his siblings, Robert "Bob" Thompson, Nancy Estes (Billy) and Sue Ramsey; his siblings-in-law, Roger McAbee (Debbie), Dennis McAbee, Scott McAbee (April), Donna Mullinax and Hilda Coyle (Terry); his grandchildren, Brandi Roark, Colton Simmons (Marisa), Zachary Ryan, Johnathan Ryan, Kaidyn Wyatt, Cody Thompson (Heather), McKenzi Hudson (Jared), Landyn Putnam (Anna), Lana Putnam, Jaylah Rice, Aubree Rice, Elijah Byrd, Tinsley Knox and Hannah Ryan; and his great grandchildren, Leland Thompson, Sam Hudson, Laila Thompson and Isabelle Hudson.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 15th 2024 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the True Gospel Independent Baptist Church (320 Pondfield Rd, Gaffney, SC 29340). A funeral service was held on Sunday, December 15th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
