He was predeceased by: his parents, James Edward Thomas and Alta Mae Durham Thomas; and his brothers, James Earl Thomas and Jerry Samuel Thomas. He is survived by: his wife Deborah "Deb" Thomas; his daughter Jalea Bayne (Jesse Byars) of Gaffney; his sister Lucille Wise of Charlotte, NC; his sisters-in-law, Thelma Thomas of Gaffney and Pam Thomas of Gaffney; and his grandchildren, Silas Bayne and Jesse Wayne Byars.
