He was predeceased by: his parents, Patrick Petty and Sudie Ruppe Petty; and his son Larry Richard Petty. He is survived by: his wife Linda McCraw Petty; his son Dale P. Petty of Mooresboro, NC; his siblings, Mike Petty (Betty) of Chesnee and Linda Earls (Stanley) of Gaffney; and his granddaughters, Madison Petty and Hollie Petty.
