He was loved and cherished by many people including : his wife Janette "Jan" McHugh Houser; his parents, Yates Wiseman Houser and Lorena Newton Houser; his children, Steven Houser (Christy) of Rutherfordton, NC and Laura Houser Hefner (Ray) of Gaffney; his siblings, Wayne Houser (Peggy) of Mooresboro, NC, Lance Houser (Linda) of Mooresboro, NC, Vaughn Houser (Hazel Ann) of Mooresboro, NC, Mike Houser (Janet) of Mooresboro, NC, Kenny Houser (LaDonna) of Mooresboro, NC, Marianne Ramsey of Mooresboro, NC and Judy Ruppe of Mooresboro, NC; and his grandchildren, Reid Houser, Mia Hefner and Jake Hefner. He was also cherished by numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation was held on Monday, June 24th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the State Line Baptist Church (1328 State Line Rd, Gaffney, SC 29341). A memorial service was held on Monday, June 24th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
