He was predeceased by: his parents, Pope Ray Tindall and Macie Lou Hughey Tindall; his son Rodney Tindall; and his brother Billy Tindall. He is survived by: his wife Nora Emma Mills Tindall; his son Randall Tindall (Sue) of Gaffney; his sister Shirley Hampton of Blacksburg; and his grandchildren, Malorie Wood and Natalie Wood.
