She was predeceased by: her parents, Norris Thomas Meeks and Sallie Beulah Francis Meeks; her siblings, Norma Spruill, Hazel Meeks and Leslie Meeks; and her daughter Velvet Foster.
She is survived by: her children, Allen Barrett (Paula Brooks), Stephen Norton (Eve) of Forest City, NC and Deana Allen of Gaffney; her siblings, Weldon Meeks of Charlotte, NC, Robert Meeks (Judy) of Union Mills, NC and Peggy Meeks Neely (Jerry) of Charlotte, NC; her sister-in-law Rose Meeks of Polk County, NC; and her grandson Emmanuel Williams.
