We are sad to announce that on August 20, 2022, at the age of 53, James Wayman Shimer of Gaffney, South Carolina, born in Annapolis, Maryland passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his father Jon R. Shimer, Sr.. He is survived by: his mother Joreita Church Shimer of Gaffney, SC.; his daughter Dakota Wales Shimer-Vest (Devin Parlier) of Pasadena; his granddaughter Delaney Parlier; his brother Jon R. Shimer, Jr.; his nephew Jon R. Shimer, III; and his niece Julia Rose Shimer (Laura Vest).

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to support Dakota and her daughter during this difficult time of grief at 1804 Chesapeake Pl., Pasadena, MD 21122.
