He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Cephus Rice (Jack) and Laura Jeanette Elmore Rice; his siblings, T. W. Rice, Harold Dean Rice, Evelyn Louise Rice, Faye Rice Frady and Brenda Rice Jolly; and his mother-in-law Blanche D. Kiser.
He is survived by: his wife Janice Nash Rice; his daughters, Carole (Troy Hill) of Church Hill and Nicole Tallon of Greenville, SC; his grandchildren, Nolan Ryan Hill (Savanah), T. J. Hill, Anna Kate Tallon and Mia Claire Tallon; his brother Billy Ray Rice (Becky); and his sister-in-law Betty Rice of Gaffney. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
