She was predeceased by: her spouse Essel Pennington; her parents, George Anderson Duke and Naomi Benfield Duke; her children, Betty Payne and Michael Eades; and her siblings, Eva Mae Bell, Billy Duke, George Duke, Troy Duke and Roy Duke.
She is survived by: her daughters, Shiela Ripley (Tony) of Shelby, NC, Teresa Frishkorn (Ryan Shannon) of Gaffney and Wanda Jones (Chris Long) of Gaffney; and her sisters, Mary Pennington of Gaffney and Margaret Connolly (Robert) of Hiddenite, NC. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Blakely Funeral Home (1047 Chesnee Hwy, Gaffney, SC 29341). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel (1047 Chesnee Hwy, Gaffney, SC 29341).
