He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Alexander Ramsey and Lula Whelchel Ramsey; and his siblings, Thomas J. Ramsey, Brenda Pettit and Linda.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Triplett Ramsey; his children, Gary Michael Ramsey Jr. (Debra) of Gaffney, Scott Ramsey (Tina) of Gaffney, Michelle Scruggs (Tommy) of Spartanburg and Melissa Adams of Murrells Inlet; his grandchildren, Stephanie Ramsey, Lindsey Ramsey, Megan Hollifield (Dillon), Samuel Scruggs, Kelsey Johnson (Rusty), Kendal Adams, Karson Adams, Macy Ramsey and Riley Ramsey; and his great grandchildren, Huxton Hollifield, Colt Johnson and Bodi Johnson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
