He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Blackwell and Maggie Edge Splawn; and his stepfather Albert Lee Splawn. He is survived by: his sons, Richard Blackwell (Tammy) of Cross Hill, SC and Dwaine Blackwell (Lisa) of Clinton, SC; his siblings, Leon Edge (Fay Sue) of Spartanburg and Sheryl Herrin of Gaffney; his grandchildren, Justin Blackwell, Tyler Blackwell and Cameron Elliott; his great grandchild Clarissa Anderson; his niece Maddie Herrin of Gaffney; his nephews, B. J. Owensby and Sammy Owensby (Nicole); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Olivia, Emily, Chris, Jessie Torres and Annie Torres; and also John Torres. He is also survived by his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
