He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Nesbitt Patterson, Sr. and Laura Parris Patterson; and his siblings, Eugene "Sooner" Patterson, Ann Couch, Edith Sanders Melton, Marvyne Patterson and Dot Perry.
He is survived by: his wife Marlene Sansing Patterson; his sons, Dean Cook (Allison) of Gaffney, Greg Patterson (Kristi) of Gaffney, Craig Patterson (Lisa) of Gaffney, Shane Patterson (Lynn) of Gaffney and Frank "Tripp" Nesbitt Patterson, III (Kelly) of Gaffney; and his grandchildren, Erika Patterson (Cliff), Shane Patterson, Jr. (Shahna), Thayer Cook (Sadie), Jessie Cook, Jesse Patterson (Patrick), Katie Patterson Culp (Cameron), Austin Steagall (Stephanie), Chase Steagall (Halee) of Craig, Patterson, Jr., Aubrey Patterson and Skylar Patterson.
