He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Zekiel "J. Z." Holmes and Lillian Davis Holmes; and his brothers, Billy W. Holmes and Terry Holmes. He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Childers Holmes; his sons, Chris Holmes (Karen) of Gaffney and Andy Holmes (Angie) of Gaffney; his sister-in-law Margaret Holmes of Gaffney; and his grandchildren, Blake Holmes (Tabitha), Angela Holmes, Ben Holmes and Baker Holmes.
