It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carolyn Tyson of Gaffney, South Carolina, who passed away on February 13, 2023, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Joe Boyce Nanney; her son Mike of Lumberton; her husband Bill Tyson; her stepfather John Hawkins; and her brother Edward Hawkins.
She is survived by: her son Melton Ray Tyson, Jr. (Brenda) of Lumberton; her daughter-in-law Glenda Tyson (late Mike Tyson); her grandchildren, Justin Tyson and Ryan Tyson (Terra); her siblings, Candy Pickert (Merle), Frank Hawkins (Jo Ann) of Gaffney, S. C., Douglas Hawkins (Linda) of Gaffney, S. C. and Donald Hawkins (Paula) of Gaffney, S. C.; and her nieces and nephews, Linda Little of Lumberton, Patty Henson of Gaffney and Lynn Patterson of Gaffney. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
