He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Saxon and Sadie Saxon (Essie Bell Taylor); and his sisters, Justine Smith and Ethel Mae Sharp. He is survived by: his wife Essie Bell Taylor; his children, John Wesley Saxon, Jr., Sadie Newton (William), Rudolph, Essie Mae Middleton, Joseph Saxon (Ernestine), Arthur Lee Saxon and Kenith Saxon (Cindy); his siblings, Harold Saxon, Lilly Bell Williams, Clementine Jones, Rosa Lee Cunningham (Clarence), Lewis Saxon, Jr. (Irabell), Earnest Saxon, James Saxon, Leroy Saxon (Shirley) and Robert Saxon; his aunt Lizzie Etta Wrights; his stepbrother Bishop Peter Jones; and his granddaughter Regina Housey. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
