He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William Franklin Hanks and Sarah Rand Hanks; his wife Beth Brunson Ballentine Hanks; his children, William Hanks, III, Wallace Hanks, Linda Hanks Kapstein and Lucille Hanks Payne (John); his grandchildren, Zachary, Jacob Kapstein, Chelsea, Will, Heath Hanks, Sidney, Sophia, Harrison, Josie, Henley Hanks, Ellie and John Wallace Payne; and his sister-in-law Peggy Ballentine.
