He is survived by: his children, Ronnie Akerman (Marie) and Dawn Zabelle (John); his grandchildren, Justin Akerman, Kristy Hughes (Austin), Nicholas Zabelle, Kohl Fonokalafi, Logan Fonokalafi and Amanda Gayman (Isiah); his great grandchildren, Forest, Kiana, Moriah, Chloe, Caleb and London; his son-in-law John Fonokalafi (Robin); and his nephew Raymond "Joey" Akerman.
