She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Cook and Electa Cook (Moore); her former husband Leo Kilmer; her husband Preston Nicks; and her siblings, Louise, David, Richard, Raymond and Eileen.

She is survived by: her children, Lucinda Forbes (James) of Fulton, Leo Edward Kilmer (Cathy) of Charleston, SC, Carl Kilmer (Marie) of Fountain Inn, SC and Patrick Kilmer; and her sisters, Agnes Pierce (Fred), Nona Altman (Jack) of Syracuse, NY and Nyla Barrett of Syracuse, NY.. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
