He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Milford Mayfield and Clemis Isabelle Jones Mayfield; his brother-in-law Lewis McDonald; and his grandson Cory Burns. He is survived by: his wife Rebecca "Becky" Davis Mayfield; his daughters, Gwen Burns and Robin Potts (Jeff); his siblings, Leland Mayfield (Pam) and Linda McDonald; his grandsons, Jacob Burns, Nicholas Burns and Aiden Potts; and also Christa McDonald.
A celebration of life was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Bethany Baptist Church (140 Bethany Baptist Dr, Fountain Inn, SC 29644). Visitation was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:15 PM at the Mj Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery (140 Inway Dr, Anderson, SC 29621).
