He was predeceased by: his parents, Delmer C. Sims and Helen Swelnis Gholston; and his brother Delmer Sims. He is survived by: his wife Carol Damron Sims of Mauldin, SC; his children, David (Debbie) of Springhill, FL and Cindy of Frankfort, IN; his brother Gary (Wanda) of Chesterton, IN; his stepsons, Warren "Butch" (Michelle) of Sanford, MI and Todd (Ashely) of Rock Hill, SC; his grandsons, Nicholas, Morgan and David Lee; and his sister-in-law Linda Sims. He is also survived by thirteen step-grandchildren; two great grandchildren.
