With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Hoyt L. Darnell Sr. of Fountain Inn, South Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 3, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin G. Darnell and Theania Darnell; his son Hoyt L. Darnell Jr.; and his siblings, Janie Darnell Collins and David Darnell.
He is survived by: his daughters, Linda Finnell (Bill) and Kim Cumbie (Dempsey); his grandchildren, Scott Templeton (Debbie), Michelle Flynn, Billy Finnell, Rebecca Crawford (Michael), Jessica Darnell, Joseph Darnell (Haven), Dakota Akhmedov (Travis), Jacob Cumbie (Bailey) and Hannah Cumbie (Matt); his great grandchildren, Emma, Walker, Breanna, Kristian, Katie, Karmen, Kaleb, Everleigh, Grayden, Amelia, Brantley, Jace, Hunter, Harper, Layla, Olivia, Mason, Kael, Eli, Owen, Kayleigh, Kyndall, Kaiden and Karson; and his great great grandchildren, Lola, Rayleigh, Elora, Macy, Arily and Aleena.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Cannon-Byrd Funeral Home – Fountain Inn (1150 N Main St, Fountain Inn, SC 29644). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
