He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Grover Cleveland Grier and Elizabeth Willie Stroud Grier; his grandson Matthew Brett Cook; and his siblings, T. R. Grier, Jettie Caskey, Bonnie Galloway and Edria Payne.
He is survived by: his daughters, Robin Burnham and Rebecca Cook; his grandson Matthew Brandon Burnham; his siblings, William "Bill" Grier (Brenda), Wesley Grier (Rosalyn), Marshall Grier, Barbara Ann Hefley (James), Sandra Carnes and Susan Maciaricello (Bob); and his sister-in-law Janice Grier. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
