She was predeceased by: her parents, Claude Beach and Mae Beach; and her husband James L. Nelms, Jr.. She is survived by: her son Danny; her daughter-in-law Melissa Nelms of Fort Mill, SC; her daughter Jennifer; her son-in-law Lee Fetter; her son Jeff; her daughter-in-law Julie Nelms of Charlotte, NC; her brother Buddy of Newport News, VA; her grandchildren, Morgan, Jack, Cody, Kaylee and Emmy; and her great grandchild Josephine.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Christ Ridge Presbyterian Church (1070 Gold Hill Rd, Fort Mill, SC 29708). Visitation was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the Peninsula Funeral Home (11144 Warwick Blvd, Newport News, VA 23601). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Peninsula Memorial Park.
