He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Shipman and Georgie Shipman; and his sisters, Margaret Osborne and Tina Johnson. He is survived by: his children, Kim Freeman (Robbie), Ricky Shipman (Amber) and Robbie Shipman; his siblings, Ray Shipman, Joyce Rockholt, Fred Shipman (Janet), Janet Rice (Alan), Ruth McCall and Alvin Shipman; his grandchildren, Drue Shipman, Ethan Shipman, Katie Freeman, Zoey Shipman and Luke Freeman; and his close friend Linda. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
