She was predeceased by: her parents, Lundy Charles and Artiley Charles (Taylor); her husband John Bowen; her former husband Furman Hance; her children, Rita Sue Bowen and Ricky John Bowen; and her siblings, Troy Charles, Granville Charles, Elzie Charles, Lloyd Charles, Paul Charles, Laura Charles, Edna Charles, Florie Charles, Earlmel Lester, Maggie Helton, Tilda Dotson, Opal St. Clair and Lennie Vandyke.
She is survived by: her daughter Vickie Hartberger (Buddy) of Fort Lawn, SC; her grandchildren, Melissa Bowers (Eric) of Fort Lawn, SC, Megan Hartberger of Fort Lawn, SC, Matthew Hartberger of Greer and Laurin Bowen of Brockettville, Pennsylvania; her great grandchildren, Zelda Bowers, Asher Bowers, David Bowen, Malachi Bowen, Cassie Bowen and Aaron Bowen; her sister Gertrude Charles of Plymouth; and her daughter-in-law Susan Bowen of Colonial Beach, VA. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
