He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Bateman and Mildred Jeffords Bateman; and his brothers, Louis Albert, Jr., Samuel Jeffords "Jeff" and William Cannon "Billy" Bateman.
He is survived by: his pets, Sassy and Cuddles; his wife Margie Gainey Bateman; his children, Thomas McLendon "Mack" Bateman, Sr. and Catherine "Cathy" Bateman Norton; his stepdaughter Denise Poston; his sister Mildred Bateman Lewis; and his grandchildren, Ty (Natalie), Brian (Carla), Megan (Derek), Fletcher (Jacob), Thomas, Dargan, Frank and Shane (Kristin). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
